The book is a well penned, well thought out, comprehensive guide for the farrier, and others interested in educating themselves in Farrier Science.  Doug Butler tackles the topics which often get overlooked in standard texts- topics like quality of life, being a better businessman, people skills and the vet-farrier relationship!  I was thrilled to see these topics addressed, and hope that this is a new beginning in which farrier schools and vet schools begin to pay close attention to promoting these concepts.  The vet-farrier team is an integral component to successful treatment of many causes of lameness, and respect needs to come from both sides.  The Butler family understands that a skilled farrier and a skilled veterinarian working together will each bring their talents and abilities to the case, while recognizing and respecting the skills of the other.   Thank you for writing this book!
